Kimpton fans have a new warm-weather escape for the dead of winter thanks to a robust renovation in Scottsdale, Arizona[1].

The Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas[2] is now accepting reservations for stays starting Jan. 5, 2026, the hotel told TPG. The property is set across 40 acres in the Paradise Valley area of Scottsdale and was a multi-million-dollar renovation of what was the former Scottsdale Plaza Resort.

“Paradise Valley has long been synonymous with distinctive luxury, and Kimpton Miralina is our opportunity to make our mark in one of the Southwest’s most coveted addresses,” Greg Dickhens, the managing partner of the property’s real estate investment firm Trinity Investments, said in a statement shared with TPG. “Travelers today are drawn to resorts that offer both immersion in nature and access to culture—trailheads at your doorstep and Old Town Scottsdale’s vibrant scene just moments away. We’re creating a property that’s deeply rooted in the desert, while also bringing a contemporary approach to how guests experience it.”

When it opens, the hotel will boast 222 canyon guestrooms and 38 casitas designed in tones of terracotta, sage, coral and violet to reflect the colors of its desert surroundings in changing light. Natural woods will add balance to ground the space, according to the property’s renderings. A total of 144 villas and residences are expected to open in late 2026.

That sense of place is continued outside, home to six different pools, including a three-tier Canyon Oasis pool. There, guests can relax in shaded cabanas and on daybeds or enjoy cold towel service and sweet treats by the water. And family-friendly playscapes make it a great escape for all ages.

True to form for the area, wellness is equally celebrated at the resort with an immersive sound installation, a stargazing oculus with “sculpted, dune-like seating” and poolside massage pavilions for the ultimate indulgence. It’s rounded out by five treatment rooms, a sauna and a cold plunge.

When guests get parched, poolside bar Cima from Los Angeles chef Wes Avila is serving up craft cocktails, while his Baja-inspired Mexican spot Hecho Libre offers a three-meal dining option. Kimpton’s signature complimentary hosted evening social hour will also be “reimagined with a Sonoran ritual” complete with sunset across the nearby mountains.
