Stephen Curry scored 19 points and made eight assists as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 98-79 on Tuesday night.
Curry shot 7-for-15 from the field and guided his team’s attack with smart passing and leadership. It was a more balanced performance from the Warriors, who had four players score 20 or more points in their previous win over Memphis. This time, Curry focused on setting up his teammates rather than doing all the scoring himself.
The Warriors made their key move late in the third quarter. Curry helped control the pace as Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody hit big 3-pointers to spark a 10-2 run, giving Golden State a 78-63 lead going into the final quarter.
Curry kept the ball moving and created open shots for teammates like Brandin Podziemski and Quinten Post, who both added 12 points each. The Warriors’ teamwork and defence kept the Clippers quiet, limiting them to just 14 points in the third quarter.
James Harden led the Clippers with 20 points — all scored before half-time — while Kawhi Leonard added 18. However, the Clippers struggled badly after the break, shooting only 36.6% from the floor and missing 27 of their 33 three-point attempts.
The win ended the Warriors’ seven-game losing streak against the Clippers and kept them unbeaten at home this season (3-0).
Golden State will next travel to Milwaukee on Thursday night, while the Clippers host the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday.
