The Punjab government has agreed to help the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration introduce an advanced e-stamp system to simplify and modernize property transactions in the federal capital. The initiative aims to improve transparency, reduce paperwork, and eliminate fraud in land record management.
An agreement was formally signed between the ICT administration and the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) at the CDA headquarters, under the direction of Chief Commissioner and CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa. The partnership will extend Punjab’s successful digital model to Islamabad, integrating the e-stamp paper system with the ongoing digitization of land records.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon stated that
“the new e-stamp system will resolve public difficulties and improve service delivery related to property transfer, sale, and registration.”
Officials believe the move will enhance efficiency and ensure safer, faster, and more transparent property dealings.
The project marks another step toward the federal capital’s broader goal of adopting technology-driven governance and making citizen services more accessible.
