Pakistan’s local mobile manufacturing industry recorded a strong rebound, with production and assembly surging 55 percent month-on-month in September 2025, reaching 3.01 million units, according to data from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The latest figures also show a 40 percent increase year-on-year, driven by rising consumer demand and the launch of new models by leading brands.
Analysts at Topline Research said sales in September 2024 were unusually low because of heavy pre-buying ahead of budget changes, making this year’s recovery more pronounced.
The surge was further boosted by new releases from Samsung, Xiaomi, and Infinix, which introduced the Galaxy S25 FE, Redmi 15 series, and Infinix Note 40X 5G, all helping lift replacement and upgrade sales.
During the first nine months of 2025, local manufacturers produced 22.78 million phones, slightly up from the same period last year.
Of this, 52 percent were smartphones, while 48 percent were 2G feature phones.
Industry data also shows that 94 percent of Pakistan’s mobile demand was met through domestic production, underscoring the sector’s growing capacity and self-reliance.
Analysts expect mobile phone sales to grow 7-8 percent year-on-year over the next 12 months, supported by a stable rupee, lower inflation, and improving purchasing power among consumers.
