After months of leaks and speculation, EA has finally confirmed Battlefield 6’s long-rumoured Battle Royale mode, officially titled Battlefield RedSec. The free-to-play mode launches today, October 28, alongside the release of Season 1, which also introduces new content, including maps, weapons, and vehicles.

EA revealed the release date through an official post on X, confirming that Battlefield RedSec will go live on Tuesday, October 28, at 8 AM PT / 3 PM UTC / 8 PM PKT. The launch trailer will premiere on YouTube at the same time, giving players their first full look at the mode.

RedSec will be free-to-play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, meaning players can jump in even without owning Battlefield 6.

According to DICE, several changes have been made following player feedback from Battlefield Labs playtests. Developers tweaked the close-range time-to-kill (TTK) to reward accuracy and movement, increased armour capacity from one to two, optimised the map to reduce bugs, and made multiple vehicle balance improvements.

RedSec Leak Now Proven True

This confirmation aligns perfectly with previous coverage from TechJuice[8]. That report cited insider sources and data-mined files referencing a secret content drop codenamed “Granite”, scheduled for October 28. It accurately predicted that EA would shadow-drop the Battle Royale mode alongside Season 1.

Battlefield 6 Season 1 Brings More Than Just RedSec

Season 1 of Battlefield 6 will introduce:

  • A new map.
  • A new vehicle.
  • A new mode.
  • Multiple new weapons for players to master.

The update aims to kick off a fresh chapter for the franchise, bringing renewed excitement to its growing player base.

Since launch, Battlefield 6 has already broken franchise records, selling over 7 million copies in its first three days. On Steam, it reached a peak of 747,000 concurrent players, making it one of the platform’s most-played games this year.

The official RedSec gameplay trailer will premiere 10 hours from now on YouTube. Fans can set a reminder and watch the reveal live once it drops.
