Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie has been shortlisted for the 2025 FIFPRO Women’s World 11, becoming Nigeria’s sole representative on the prestigious list.

The FIFPRO World 11 is an annual global award that recognises the best players in world football, selected entirely by votes from professional footballers around the world.

While many expected top Super Falcons stars such as Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala, and Uchenna Kanu Okoronkwo to feature after standout seasons, it is Alozie who has made the cut — a testament to her consistent performances for both club and country.

Michelle Alozie

The Houston Dash defender enjoyed a remarkable year, helping Nigeria lift the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and playing a key role in the team’s strong international campaign.

In the women’s category, Alozie is nominated alongside global stars Ona Batlle, Lucy Bronze, Millie Bright, Olga Carmona, Ellie Carpenter, Alex Greenwood, and Leah Williamson.

On the men’s side, there are no Nigerian nominees, with only two Africans — Achraf Hakimi (Morocco) and Mohamed Salah (Egypt) — making the shortlist.
