A serious accident occurred on Islamabad’s Faisal Avenue when the brakes of an Islamic University bus reportedly failed, sending it out of control and crashing into six to seven vehicles. The bus veered off the road and onto the green belt, leaving behind a trail of damaged cars and chaos.
According to initial reports, the driver tried desperately to stop the vehicle but failed due to a deep rut in the road that made braking ineffective. This dangerous road condition raises a big question mark toward the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for its negligence in maintaining Islamabad’s main thoroughfares.
Residents and commuters have long complained about the deteriorating condition of multiple roads, pointing out uneven surfaces, potholes, and poorly maintained road shoulders. Many believe the CDA’s failure to address these long-standing issues directly contributed to today’s accident.
This incident involving the Islamic University bus underscores the urgent need for Islamabad’s civic authorities to prioritize infrastructure maintenance before more lives are put in danger.
