The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved several key development projects for Balochistan, with a strong focus on improving the province’s education sector. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar via video link, also reviewed ongoing federal projects and their progress across the country.

Officials said ECNEC approves projects for Balochistan that will strengthen access to education and improve literacy rates. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Balochistan Senior Irrigation Minister Mir Sadiq Umrani, and other provincial and federal representatives.

One of the major initiatives approved by the committee is the “Access and Delivery of Quality Education” project. The five-year program focuses on early childhood and primary education, public-private partnerships, and emergency preparedness in the education sector.

According to officials, the project aims to expand learning opportunities for children and ensure quality education across Balochistan.

In addition to education, ECNEC approves projects for Balochistan that include the construction of the 103-kilometre Zhob-Mehktar-Margha Kabzai road, the 105km Duki-Chamalang road, and the revised Balochistan Livelihood and Internship Project.

The committee directed relevant authorities to ensure timely completion of these projects while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency to promote sustainable development in the province.
