Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Abu Bakar, has resigned from his position. According to official sources, Abu Bakar submitted his resignation citing personal reasons, which has been accepted by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT).

Abu Bakar was appointed as CEO of PSEB in October last year, following a two-year vacancy in the position. His resignation once again leaves the important post of CEO at the PSEB vacant. During his tenure, Abu Bakar worked on strengthening Pakistan’s IT export ecosystem and enhancing collaboration between the private sector and government institutions.

A seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in technology and business operations, Abu Bakar also served as President of Open Global Pakistan. His professional background includes leadership roles across international organizations, specializing in digital transformation, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and business process improvement. As an Operating Partner at Visible Ventures, he played a key role in supporting startups and scale-ups through due diligence and value creation strategies.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication confirmed the resignation, stating that Abu Bakar stepped down due to personal reasons and professional commitments. The spokesperson added that the ministry has initiated the process to appoint a new CEO for the Pakistan Software Export Board.
