Microsoft hasn’t officially unveiled a PS5 port for Starfield, but a new report states that announcement will come next year. The RPG from Bethesda Game Studios has long been rumored for PS5 as more and more Xbox first-party games get ported to Sony’s system.

Reliable leaker NateTheHate2 stated on X[1] that Starfield will be revealed for PS5 in 2026 while responding to a question about the port. In August, a report noted that the RPG is set to launch on Sony’s system in the spring[2]–possibly alongside a second expansion[3]. In fact, Bethesda seemed to tease the name Terran Armada[4] in a two-year-anniversary video for Starfield back in September.

At the beginning of the year, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer wouldn’t rule out Starfield coming to PS5[9]. Then, in March, the Bethesda Creation Kit website even featured a PS5 logo for a Starfield mod[10] at one point.

Starfield might come to more than just PS5, too, as NateTheHate2 previously said the RPG is set to release on Switch 2 in 2026[11]. Xbox is bringing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to Switch 2[12] next year, while PS5 has seen plenty of big Xbox-published games[13]. As such, there is clearly precedent for Xbox to support these systems with its titles.

Originally launching in 2023, Starfield is only available for PC and Xbox Series X|S currently. For more, check out GameSpot’s Starfield review[14].
