Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced the launch of a dedicated Education Helpline (0316-0261408) for reporting schools lacking essential facilities such as classrooms, toilets, boundary walls, and clean drinking water. The move follows the completion of a comprehensive survey aimed at identifying infrastructural gaps across the province’s public schools.

Under the education reform agenda of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government has prioritized addressing infrastructure deficiencies in government schools, particularly in rural and low-income areas. The initiative aligns with the province’s broader education improvement plan focused on access, safety, and quality learning.

According to the education department, data collection for missing facilities and additional classrooms has been completed. The next phase involves immediate rectification of gaps based on school-level reports.

“We are fully committed to ensuring that 100 percent of missing facilities are provided across Punjab’s schools, Inshallah,” said Rana Sikandar Hayat, reaffirming the government’s promise of comprehensive reform.

School heads and teachers have been instructed to promptly report any deficiencies through the helpline. The initiative seeks to enhance coordination between schools and the department while promoting transparency and faster response to complaints.

Education officials stated that the department has already started identifying schools requiring urgent upgrades. The focus remains on creating safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environments for students across Punjab.

“This initiative reflects the Chief Minister’s vision of transforming Punjab’s public education infrastructure,” a department spokesperson added.
