Hollywood titan Mark Wahlberg has made another colossal splash in the luxury property market, dropping a staggering $57.1m (US$37m) on a newly flipped, fully furnished mansion in Florida’s exclusive “Billionaires Row.”

But it’s not just the celebrity purchase making headlines – a shrewd developer has walked away with an $11 million profit in a matter of months.

The actor, 54, has acquired the lavish, Italian-style retreat, dubbed “Palazzo di Lago,” nestled within the ultra-private Stone Creek Ranch community in Delray Beach.

The vendor, spec developer Aldo Stark, is the real story here, having purchased the enormous 17,800-square-foot dwelling in January for $40.1m (US$26m).

After a rapid, complete overhaul, he swiftly relisted it in March for $69.5m, (US$45m), ultimately selling it furnished to Wahlberg for $57.1m – making a cool $17m (US$11m) profit in just a few short months, according to

He offloaded his illustrious Beverly Hills estate to fellow celebrity Paris Hilton, who splashed out an astonishing $97.4m (US$63.1m) for the sprawling property.

Wahlberg had originally purchased the land for a comparatively modest $12.7m (US$8.25m) in 2009, commissioning famed architect Richard Landry to design the opulent abode.

The actor had resided there with his family until 2022, when he announced his relocation to Nevada, seeking “a place where my kids can flourish and pursue their passions,” he told People, adding during an appearance on “The Talk”: “To be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams, whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer—this made a lot more sense for us.”
