Manchester United[1] players were full of congratulations for one another after ending their 10-year wait for a Premier League[2] win at Anfield, as cameras showed the jubilant scenes inside the away dressing room.
Ruben Amorim[3]‘s side beat Liverpool[4] 2-1 to claim their first victory on the ground since January 2016, moving within two points of the defending champions.
It was a result built on early aggression and late resilience. Bryan Mbeumo struck after just 62 seconds before Harry Maguire[5]‘s 84th-minute header settled a breathless contest.
Inside the away dressing room, Sky Sports cameras captured joyous scenes as United’s players marked a landmark win.
Shirts and boots were strewn across the floor while several players clapped and laughed around the benches. Bruno Fernandes[6] and Maguire were at the centre of the celebrations, sharing a handshake and a brief embrace as teammates applauded.
The moment underlined the significance of a result that ended a nine-match winless run for United at Anfield and delivered Amorim’s second straight league victory in charge.

Maguire’s inch-perfect header late on secured the Red Devils’ first win at the home of their arch rivals in a decade
In the Sky Sports studio, Roy Keane praised the visitors’ new-found confidence but warned them not to get carried away, stressing that Amorim’s troops ‘have to keep going’.
‘The good thing for some of the attacking players that have come into the club is that they haven’t got the negativity of last season, where it was really bad,’ he said.
‘They’re winning a few matches now, they’ve won at Liverpool so they’ve got to take that belief now into the game next week against Brighton.
‘Enjoy a little bit of success tonight, no doubt the fans will have a few drinks but stay focused and stay in the zone.
‘They look like they’ve got goals in this team and that was a big problem for them last season. For all their problems, they weren’t a goal threat.
‘Some of the attacking players looked like there was a swagger about them. They’ve now got to build on it.’
For the Red Devils’ opener, Fernandes fed Amad Diallo, whose pass released Bryan Mbeumo to slot past Giorgi Mamardashvili after just 62 seconds. Cody Gakpo twice struck the post before finally equalising, but Maguire’s late header sealed United’s first Anfield win in a decade.
Maguire reflected afterwards that the result carried extra meaning after years of disappointment on Merseyside.

United now turn their attention to next weekend’s clash with Brighton, aiming for a third consecutive league victory under Amorim
‘They’ve had the better of us over the last few years and it’s not been good enough and we’ve not given our fans anywhere near enough days like today,’ he told Sky Sports.
‘It’s the old cliche, it’s only three points but it’s definitely not, it means a lot more than that to the boys, to the club, to the fans.
‘I’ve been here seven years now and to come to this ground every year and not get three points has been tough, so it’s for the fans and I hope they have a good night tonight.’
