A Chinese company has unveiled a pilotless air taxi designed to transform urban transportation. The innovative flying vehicle, developed by EHang Holding Vehicles, can travel up to 125 miles on a single charge and operate without a pilot.

According to a statement from the company, the new flying taxi, called VT35, aims to make city air travel safe, easy, and routine. The vehicle was recently showcased in Hefei, Anhui province, where it caught global attention for its advanced features and sleek design.

The two-seater air taxi is equipped with automated flight systems, electric propulsion, and a durable airframe built for secure and efficient urban transport. Its design enables vertical takeoff and landing, allowing it to operate from rooftops, parking lots, and compact urban areas.

EHang stated that the VT35 can reach a top speed of 134 mph while carrying a maximum weight of 950 kilograms. In a recent test, the air taxi demonstrated its ability to land safely even on a moving ship.

Unlike traditional aircraft, the pilotless air taxi does not require a human pilot onboard. Instead, trained operators on the ground can remotely manage its systems and flight operations.

The vehicle is currently undergoing final testing and has been priced at approximately $913,600. EHang plans to officially launch the VT35 for commercial use after completing its trial phase, marking a significant step toward the future of urban air mobility.
