Huawei has quietly expanded its foldable lineup with the launch of the Huawei[1] Nova Flip S in China, a refined, more affordable version of the Nova Flip model that debuted in August 2024. The new clamshell foldable introduces two fresh colour options and a slightly reduced price, while retaining many of the core specifications that made the original Nova Flip[2] popular among mid-range foldable buyers.

The Nova Flip S features a 6.94-inch full-HD+ (2690×1136) foldable OLED main display and a 2.14-inch OLED cover screen, both designed with rounded corners for a seamless look. The outer display supports 480×480 resolution, while the main screen offers P3 wide colour gamut, a 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring sharp, smooth, and responsive visuals.
Although Huawei hasn’t officially confirmed the chipset or RAM details, reports suggest the phone is likely powered by the Kirin 8000, the same processor that drives the standard Nova Flip. It comes in 256GB and 512GB storage configurations and runs HarmonyOS 5.1 out of the box.
Camera performance is another highlight. The device packs a 50-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.9 aperture) paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens (f/2.2 aperture). The main camera supports 4K video recording, while the inner display houses a 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.2 aperture). Huawei notes that photo output may vary depending on lighting and shooting modes.
Powering the device is a 4,400mAh battery with 66W fast wired charging, promising quick top-ups. When unfolded, the Nova Flip S measures just 6.88mm thick and weighs 195 grams, making it one of the lighter foldables in its class. For security, it includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for fast and reliable unlocking.

According to the rumours,[3] the Huawei Nova Flip S starts at CNY 3,388 (approximately Rs. 41,900) for the 256GB model, while the 512GB variant is priced at CNY 3,688 (around Rs. 45,600). It is available in a vibrant range of colours, including New Green, Zero White, Sakura Pink, Star Black, Sky Blue, and Feather Sand Black.
