The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) has uncovered a high-tech drug trafficking network that used drones to move narcotics across the Lahore Division. The breakthrough came after a targeted intelligence operation launched early Friday morning.
According to the CNF spokesperson, officers raided multiple locations and arrested several suspects linked to the smuggling ring. The team seized 1.32 kilograms of heroin, three drones, two submachine guns with 60 rounds, one pistol, and two unregistered motorcycles.
Officials revealed that the network was using drones to transport drugs through restricted areas, avoiding traditional detection methods. The CNF has launched a detailed investigation to identify other members and map the drone supply routes.
In a related operation on Thursday, CNF teams intercepted another drug dealer along Hafizabad Road in Gujranwala. The raid led to the recovery of 5.5 kilograms of hashish, 3 kilograms of opium, 713 grams of crystal meth, and a pistol with ammunition.
Authorities said both raids reflect CNF’s growing focus on countering the use of modern technology in drug trafficking. Further arrests are expected as investigations continue across Punjab.
