Samsung is reportedly discontinuing its Edge series smartphones after the lackluster sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. Multiple sources, including South Korea’s NewsPim, report that the company will not launch a Galaxy S26 Edge and is likely to phase out the Edge lineup altogether once S25 Edge stock runs out.

An unnamed Samsung[1] official told Korean media, “I’m not sure if the slim line (i.e. Edge line) will ever return, but as of now, it seems unlikely. It’s practically gone.”

This move follows disappointing shipment numbers for the S25 Edge, which reached just 1.31 million units by August. In comparison, other Galaxy S25 series models performed much better: the standard S25 shipped 8.28 million units, the S25+ hit 5.05 million, and the S25 Ultra led the lineup with 12.18 million units shipped.

Despite the cancellation, reports suggest that Samsung has already finished development of the Galaxy S26 Edge. However, the device will not launch under the Edge branding and may be introduced in a different product line in the future.

Samsung is now expected to unveil three Galaxy S26 devices in January: the S26 Pro, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra.
