Realme has officially confirmed the launch date for its upcoming GT 8 series. The company will unveil the new lineup in China on October 21. Alongside the announcement, Realme[1] shared an early look at what to expect from the GT 8 Pro, teasing several major upgrades.

The teaser mainly focuses on the GT 8 Pro, leaving the standard GT 8’s details under wraps for now. However, the Pro model seems to bring notable improvements in battery life, charging speed, and design.

The GT 8 Pro will pack a 7,000 mAh battery, up from 6,500 mAh in the previous GT 7 Pro, while maintaining 120W wired charging. It will also introduce 50W fast wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging for the first time. Bypass charging is also supported, ensuring efficient power management during gaming or heavy use.

Realme confirmed that the GT 8 Pro will work seamlessly with other charging standards as well. It supports 50W PPS PD, 44W UFCS, and 36W PD protocols, enhancing compatibility with third-party chargers.

Despite its larger battery and added wireless coil, the GT 8 Pro will be slimmer and lighter, weighing 214 grams and measuring only 8.2 mm thick.

According to the leaks[2], performance-wise, the smartphone will feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Realme even tested a prototype in-house, showing impressive benchmark results. The processor will be paired with a custom R1 gaming display chip capable of super-resolution rendering and frame rate boosting.

This new chip can handle QHD gaming at a 144 Hz refresh rate and is optimized for titles such as Valorant Mobile, Delta Action, and Arena Breakout.
