Nigeria internationals Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Samuel Chukwueze have returned to London following their involvement with the Super Eagles during the international break.
The trio featured in Nigeria’s emphatic 4–0 victory over Benin Republic on Tuesday in Uyo, which sealed the team’s place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoffs.
For the first time in history, three Fulham players started a match for Nigeria, with manager Eric Chelle naming Iwobi, Bassey, and Chukwueze in his starting lineup.
Bassey played the full 90 minutes, Iwobi was substituted two minutes from time, while Chukwueze was taken off at half-time after picking up a knock and replaced by Olakunle Olusegun.
With Fulham set to face Arsenal this weekend in the Premier League, the players wasted no time returning to the English capital after international duty.
The club confirmed via its official social media handles that all three players have rejoined the squad and took part in a light recovery session, which included work on the stationary bike.
Manager Marco Silva was also seen speaking with Chukwueze during training, as fans await an update on the winger’s fitness. Further information is expected on Friday when Silva addresses the media in his pre-match press conference.
Fulham will host Premier League leaders Arsenal at Craven Cottage on Saturday, as the London side look to build momentum and secure a strong result at home.
