Alejandra Esquin, who went by the moniker Baby Demoni online, had a substantial following on social media when her body was found in critical condition at her home in Bogota, Colombia
An influencer[1] has died in mysterious circumstances two days after undergoing plastic surgery.
Alejandra Esquin, better known online as Baby Demoni, was found in a critical condition in her home. She was rushed to hospital in Bogota, Colombia[2], where she passed away yesterday (15 Oct) aged 24.
At the time of her death, Alejandra had nearly 1m TikTok followers and 122,000 Instagram fans[3]. The Colombian influencer referred to herself as a “model” and “public figure” and mainly posted irreverent dance videos and dark comedy skits, as reported by NeedToKnow.
Friend Yina Calder said: “She had liposuction and a boob job two days ago. She was super happy with the surgery. It’s very strange.”

Fellow influencer El Barny said: “Please grieve in the best way possible. Remembering her for the wonderful person she was.”
Her partner, identified as Samor, said he found her. He said: “I helped her with the people in the building where we live, I took her to the emergency room.”
The victim’s body has undergone an autopsy to establish her exact cause of death. The authorities are waiting for the results before making an announcement.
Rumours are circulating on social media over the mysterious circumstances. Samor allegedly told his followers the young woman had taken her own life, while Yina mentioned hearing an argument between the couple in the hours before her death, reports local outlet Semana[6].
It comes after police in Brazil[7] launched an investigation over the mysterious death of another influencer and her teenage daughter. They were discovered after reports from worried neighbours.
Lidiane Aline Lorenco, 33, and 15-year-old Miana Sophya Santos were tragically found dead in their 11th floor flat after residents became concerned for their welfare.
Having not seen or heard from the mother or daughter for some time, they reported an unpleasant odour coming from the apartment.
The Fire Department arrived at the block of apartments in Rio de Janeiro and, after receiving no answer, broke down the door. Inside they found Lidiane in a bedroom and Miana in the living room, according to local reports. Both had been dead for some time, police believe.
In another shocking case, a Korean influencer is believed to have been brutally murdered just 30 minutes after a live stream by a VIP fan who left her body in a suitcase in the mountains.
Yoon Ji-ah, said to have been in her 20s, was assaulted and strangled to death on 11 September. Investigators believe the internet personality, who had over 300,000 followers on TikTok, encountered danger almost immediately after ending the live broadcast.
