Internet services across Pakistan have been fully restored after the successful completion of repair work on a submarine cable system. According to a spokesperson for PTCL Group, the international cable consortium has completed maintenance on the repeater installed in the submarine cable, ensuring normal internet connectivity nationwide.
The repair operation, which began on October 14 at 11 a.m., was part of scheduled maintenance announced earlier by the consortium. The work continued for approximately 18 hours and involved technical procedures to restore the stability and performance of the undersea communication link connecting Pakistan to the global network.
During the maintenance period, users across various regions experienced temporary slowdowns and partial disruption in internet services. PTCL Group had earlier advised customers about possible service degradation and had coordinated with international partners to minimize the impact on domestic and business users.
Following the completion of repairs, internet speed and connectivity have returned to normal levels across the country. The restoration has been confirmed by multiple internet service providers, who reported that data traffic has stabilized and latency levels have improved.
The PTCL Group spokesperson thanked users for their patience and cooperation during the maintenance period, emphasizing that such repair work is essential to ensure reliable and uninterrupted connectivity for millions of internet users in Pakistan.
