Google has introduced a new AI-powered scheduling tool for Gmail users, making it easier to arrange meetings directly through Google Calendar. The feature, called “Help me schedule,” uses Gemini AI to analyze your availability and suggest suitable meeting times within an email conversation.
The tool is currently optimized for one-on-one meetings and will automatically update both parties’ calendars once a time is confirmed. Users can also manually edit or remove suggested slots before sending them.
This new integration marks another step in Google’s broader push to embed AI into its Workspace ecosystem, following recent Gemini updates in Google Slides, NotebookLM, and Google Vids.
“This feature simplifies scheduling by understanding email context for example, if someone mentions a 30-minute slot, Gemini will automatically suggest fitting times,” a Google spokesperson explained.
While competitors like Calendly, Doodle, and HubSpot have long offered smart scheduling assistants, Google’s native AI advantage ensures deeper synchronization between Gmail and Calendar.
Additionally, Google announced that Google Keep reminders will now automatically sync to Google Tasks, offering a more unified productivity experience across Workspace apps.
