The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has announced plans to replace its current paper rechecking method with a new re-marking system to ensure greater transparency and fairness in the evaluation process. The proposal will be implemented after final approval from the provincial cabinet, according to Controller of Examinations Tausif ur Rehman.

Previously, the paper rechecking process only involved verifying mark totals and unmarked questions, leaving no room for reviewing marking accuracy. This often led to dissatisfaction among students and numerous complaints regarding unfair evaluation.

The newly proposed re-marking system will allow a complete reassessment of students’ answer sheets, ensuring that each question is evaluated thoroughly. Tausif ur Rehman explained,

“This new system is designed to eliminate doubts about fairness and enhance student trust in the examination process.”

He added that the initiative comes under the guidance of the Punjab Education Minister, and implementation preparations are already underway.

In a separate announcement, BISE Lahore confirmed that Intermediate Part-I result cards are now available online. Students can download their result cards from the official website, and the digital copies will be accepted for admissions in educational institutions.

This reform marks a major shift in Punjab’s education evaluation system, promoting accountability, accuracy, and student confidence in exam results.
