  • Another Samsung Galaxy tri-fold rumor emerges
  • The phone “may” now be sold in international markets
  • We could see an official launch in the next few weeks

Good news if you were hoping to get your hands on the long-awaited tri-fold foldable phone from Samsung[1]: the latest rumor about the device that was first teased in January is that it may be available globally, like most of the best Samsung phones[2] before it.

This comes from sources in touch with SamMobile[3], and counters previous rumors that suggested this handset would be limited to South Korea and China – similar to the rollout that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition[4] had last year.

However, we shouldn’t get too excited about the news just yet: SamMobile says the phone will go on sale in the UAE, as well as China and South Korea, and that other countries (including the US and the UK) “may” see a launch.

It sounds then as though there’s still some uncertainty about how many markets this tri-fold is going to be available in – perhaps even inside Samsung. An official unveiling is expected to happen sometime in the next few weeks[5].

A long time coming

Samsung showed off the tri-fold at its Unpacked event[6] for the Galaxy S25 phones in January, and Samsung has stated several times that the foldable is going to break cover sometime during 2025[7] – which we are fast getting to the latter stages of.

While there hasn’t been much else said officially, the rumors point to the phone being powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset[8], and there has also been talk of 16GB of RAM and a titanium frame[9] in recent months.

The hinges and the speakers could be borrowed[10] from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7[11], according to leaks, while there have also been hints of a 10-inch main display[12] and rather underwhelming charging specs[13].

All the signs point to a premium phone with a premium price[14], and while this isn’t quite confirmation that we’re going to get a full global launch for the tri-fold, it is at least more encouraging than previous rumors[15] of limited availability.
