Bentonville-based Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas[1] recently received $135,000 in gifts for its Building for Success Capital Campaign, which has reached 69% of its $7.4 million goal.
The campaign supports the construction of the organization’s new Springdale headquarters, the Pat Walker Center for Success.
The organization received $75,000 from Springdale-based Schmieding Foundation and $60,000 from Danville-based Chambers Bank.
The previous gift will create the Schmieding Foundation Winding Walking Path, an outdoor space that’s “designed to provide scholarship recipients and their families with a welcoming place for reflection, connection and renewal,” according to a news release.
The latter gift will give Chambers Bank a naming opportunity for the Building Community Gathering Space, which will be part of the therapeutic garden at the new headquarters.
“At Chambers Bank, we believe that strong communities start with strong families,” said Mike Donnell, president of Chambers Bank. “The Single Parent Scholarship Fund of NWA is doing life-changing work by empowering single parents to achieve their goals and create brighter futures for their families. We are honored to invest in their mission, knowing it will strengthen not only individual households, but the entire Northwest Arkansas community for generations to come.”
