In a landmark step for innovation and higher education, the Sindh government has approved the NED Science and Technology Park[1] Project, set to become Pakistan’s first university-based science and technology park. The facility will be built within the premises of NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi.
The park, designed as an eco-friendly green building, aims to foster research, startups, and industry-academia collaboration. The project will be executed through a government-to-government (G2G) agreement with Enertech Holding Company, a subsidiary of the Kuwait Investment Authority, under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
The official signing ceremony is expected by end of October 2025, marking a major milestone in Pakistan’s science and technology infrastructure.
An official commented,
“This initiative will create a dynamic ecosystem for innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable technology growth in Sindh.”
