Rwanda’s national football team, the Amavubi, has made a strong promise to fans after a disappointing 1-0 loss to Benin Republic in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
Despite playing with great effort, Rwanda were beaten by a late goal from Tosin Aiyegun, leaving them frustrated and disappointed. However, both the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) and the players say they are determined to come back stronger.
In a message to supporters posted on social media, the team wrote:
“To you supporters,
You gave your all, we felt every ounce of your passion.
Tonight, we bow our heads, not in defeat, but in gratitude.
We’ll rise again — stronger, sharper, hungrier.
Next time, we’ll make it count, for you and for the nation.”
Their next challenge will be against South Africa, and Rwanda have promised to give a better performance in that crucial match.
Group C Still Wide Open
The result against Benin was not the only big moment in Group C.
These results mean the group is still very close, and every match could be important for deciding who qualifies for the World Cup.

The Amavubi’s strong message shows they are ready to fight until the end and give their fans something to cheer about.
