Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has spoken out in support of Lamine Yamal, asking people to give the young Barcelona player more space and privacy.
In recent months, Yamal has faced criticism for things off the pitch, including his 18th birthday party and stories about his personal life in the media.
Mbappé, who also became famous at a young age, gave advice to Yamal in an interview with Movistar+, encouraging the teenager to stay focused on football.
“Lamine Yamal has shown that he really loves football, and he should never lose that passion,” said Mbappé. “As for his personal life — that’s his own business.”
The French forward continued:
“People talk a lot about what he does off the pitch, but he’s only 18. Everyone makes mistakes at that age and learns from them. What really matters is how he plays football — and he’s already amazing.”
Yamal is currently out with an injury and is expected to miss two to three weeks. Still, Mbappé believes the young Spaniard has a bright future.
“He’s incredibly talented. I hope he stays focused and reaches the level he deserves. If he keeps working hard, he’ll go far.”
Even with the recent criticism, Lamine Yamal remains one of the most gifted young footballers in the world and is expected to be a key player for Spain at the 2026 World Cup.
