Keffiyeh-clad protesters of Israeli military actions who brandish Palestinian flags say they want peace, but that’s only posturing.
That’s the take of Lt. Gov. Jay Collins[1], who shared his thoughts about the cease-fire deal struck by President Donald Trump[2] on Newsmax[3] Saturday morning.
“They only want peace that is good for their political talking points. Most people have no idea how the Middle East works, what this looks like, all the steps it takes to get to where we are,” the former Green Beret said on the “Wake Up America[4]” program.
Collins credited Trump with “courage beyond reproach” during the segment, describing the President’s “leadership” as “incredible.”
“Kudos to President Trump. Talk about courage, conviction, candor. That’s what leadership looks like on the world stage. To see America brought back to broker peace in the Middle East? Yes, Hamas has agreed to only the first stage. But how critical is this? Everybody has to return home. I’m so proud of his leadership for what he’s done,” Collins said.
Trump says the return of hostages[5] kept in Gaza for two years has already begun and that “for the most part” Israel and Hamas agree on the path forward.
