Epic Games has introduced Doja Cat as the new boss NPC in Fortnitemares 2025. Despite her reservations about the skin, Doja Cat is slated to appear as “Mother of Thorns.” The crossover preserves her signature style to the spooky chaos of Chapter 6 Season 4, which makes her a prime target on the island.
Where to Find Doja Cat in Fortnite
The Mother of Thorns, a.k.a. Doja Cat, is a mini-boss who appears randomly across the island during Fortnitemares 2025. She doesn’t have a fixed spawn, so players must track her down among several possible locations.
She can spawn at one of three primary sites, all themed around pumpkin patches:
- West of Supernova Academy
- Lower portion of Gourdy Gate
- Beside the southern red barn in Freaky Fields
You’ll know she’s nearby if a boss icon appears on your minimap, accompanied by eerie background music. Players can also spot her sitting on a throne of thorns, signaling that the Mother of Thorns has arrived.
How to Defeat the Mother of Thorns
If you thought finding Doja Cat is half the challenge, try surviving a fight with her. She doesn’t have unique attack gimmicks, but the battle gets intense due to other players converging on the same location. If you want to cinch the moment, grab a solid weapon, keep your distance, and chip away at her health until she goes down.
Once defeated, you can revive her to join your party as an AI ally for the rest of the match. You’ll also receive the Thorn Ripper, a mythic weapon tied to the Fortnitemares questline.
Doja Cat’s in-game alter ego is linked to three different Fortnitemares quests. Players will need to locate and defeat her to complete these seasonal challenges, making her one of the event’s most sought-after NPCs.
Because her location shifts each match and competition is fierce, it’s best to plan your drop near one of the spawn zones early to secure the fight before others arrive.
Doja Cat[1] is reportedly not happy with Fortnite after the game’s official social media accounts made what she called a “cringe” promotional post following her in-game debut. She criticized the tone of the post, suggesting it didn’t match her artistic identity or the darker, more mysterious theme of her “Mother of Thorns” persona. Fans have since debated whether Epic Games misrepresented her image for marketing hype rather than respecting her creative intent.
