Sevilla forward Jerome Adams Akor has shared his excitement after receiving his first-ever invitation to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Akor is the only new face in Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic. The 24-year-old earned the call-up following a strong start to the season with his Spanish club, Sevilla.
Speaking to the Super Eagles media team, Akor said he is focused on giving his best to help the team succeed.
“I don’t think there’s any breaking in, personally. I just have to give what I can for the team. In general, whoever is playing, we support. And if the coach calls you, you give your best,” he said.
Akor, who previously played for Nigeria at U-20 level, will be hoping to make his senior debut when the Super Eagles take on the Crocodiles of Lesotho on Friday.
