The allegations and photographs resurfaced en masse in early October 2025, following the release of Swift’s album The Life of a Showgirl^[4] in which she reportedly dissed fellow popstar Charlie XCX on the track “Actually Romantic.” The discourse ^[5] about Swift’s grooming accusations resurfaced because Twitter / X ^[6] users joked about Charlie XCX having the chance to bring up the allegations on a diss track as an homage to rapper ^[7] Kendrick Lamar’s ^[8] diss track “Not Like Us ^[9]” aimed at Drake ^[10].

In 2009, Taylor Swift dated Twilight^[11] actor Taylor Lautner for three months. The two reportedly met in July 2009 while filming the 2010 movie Valentine’s Day, in which they played high school lovers. Lautner was 17 and Swift was 19 when they met and dated.

In July 2012, Taylor Swift reportedly befriended the matriarch of the Kennedy family, Ethel Kennedy, and was photographed sailing with the Kennedy family in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, on July 4th. At the time, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s ^[12] son, Conor Kennedy, was 17 and turning 18 later that month. Swift started dating Kennedy shortly after he turned 18 while she was 22.

In December 2012, Taylor Swift began dating One Direction ^[13] member Harry Styles, who was 18 at the time. Swift was 23.

On July 6th, 2022, X user @4HasBeyn shared a graphic compiling photos of Taylor Swift with the aforementioned men paired with their ages at the time of their relationships. The graphic incorrectly labeled Swift as 20 during her relationship with Lautner and also incorrectly claimed that Styles was still in high school. The graphic also misrepresented Kennedy’s age in the photo of him kissing Swift.

It’s unclear if the user created the infographic or not, but the tweet is the earliest discovered upload of it online. It received over 140 likes in three years. The image would later become the leading piece of media in the grooming allegations against Swift.

On October 5th, 2025, the infographic notably resurfaced when X user @SolidXnnake quote-tweeted ^[14] a video shared by British ^[15] recording artist Charli XCX. Her video showed a recording studio, and it was shared shortly after Taylor Swift released her album The Life of a Showgirl, which had the song “Actually Romantic” that was believed to be a diss at Charli XCX, according to outlets like Rolling Stone Magazine.

@SolidXnnake attached two images in their quote-tweet. The first was a cropped section of the abovementioned graphic, showing Swift kissing Conor Kennedy. The other was the album cover of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us,” released during the Kendrick Lamar and Drake Feud ^[16].

@SolidXnnake captioned the images, “Charli could do something very funny,” roughly following the “Potential to Do the Funniest Thing of All Time ^[17]” phrasal template ^[18]. The post gained over 77,000 likes in four days.

On October 6th, X user @vlexterr quote-tweeted @SolidXnnake and attached the full infographic, including the parts about Harry Styles and Taylor Lautner. They captioned it, “The fact it wasn’t even just one time either…” gaining over 138,000 likes in two days.

Later on October 6th, 2025, X user @zero_login quote-tweeted @vlexterr, writing, “Taylor dropped an album so bad that it reminded people that she used to date high schoolers.” The post included an IShowSpeed Trying Not to Laugh ^[19] meme reading, “If you laugh you go to Guantanamo.” Over two days, the post received roughly 215,000 likes.

Also on October 6th, Redditor ^[20] SuperbWillingness904 shared a post to the /r/travisandtaylor subreddit called, “Top 11 things Taylor wishes she could delete from people’s minds?” which received over 1,000 upvotes in two days. The Redditor edited the post to include Swift’s relationship with Conor Kennedy due to others in the comments talking about it.
