
The Punjab government has announced an ambitious plan to construct 57,000 affordable homes for low-income families across the province, with ownership available through easy installment plans.
According to the Punjab Housing Department, the project is designed to provide standardized, low-cost housing and will be executed under the department’s supervision.

The government has approved the transfer of state-owned lands to the Punjab Housing[1] and Town Planning Agency to begin construction.
A spokesperson stated,
“This initiative will not only provide affordable housing but also promote sustainable living through solar energy systems and rainwater harvesting.”
The five-year project will be developed in collaboration with the World Bank and the private sector, ensuring global construction standards, transparency, and long-term sustainability.
Officials emphasized that quality control will be maintained at every stage, with homes equipped with all essential amenities to uplift the living standards of deserving families.
