Travis [1]Kelce[2]‘s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole[3], is sharing a deeply personal admission on her podcast, “The Pre-Game,” revealing that she’s “terrified” of the critical comments she receives online. Her latest comments come days after Kelce’s partner, Taylor Swift[4], released a new project and seemingly threw shade at the influencer and her failed relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs[5] star. Shortly after the album’s release, Nicole appeared to respond to Swift’s lyrics with a pointed post on her Instagram Stories, emphasizing the importance of not comparing oneself to other women.

Travis Kelce’s Ex-Girlfriend Opens Up About The Fear She Faces When Receiving Critical Comments

In the most recent episode of her podcast, Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Nicole, sat down with former television host Joy Taylor, and they discussed a range of topics, including trolls on Instagram who leave negative comments.

According to Nicole, she’s learned to let the critical comments from netizens roll off her back, but it’s only thanks to the legendary singer Mariah Carey.

“Mariah Carey said something so poignant the other day — love this queen,” Nicole started. “She said, ‘It’s so strange — if people want to talk about me and that’s what they want to do with their lives, then OK. Let them do it.'”

Taylor responded to Nicole and attempted to highlight the bright side of negative comments: engagement.

“As someone who obsesses over the fact that I, on a daily basis, am terrified of my comments, am terrified of my DMs — I don’t want to be triggered, I don’t want to care, I don’t want to look — but you’re f-cking right,” Nicole said. “If you’re going to talk sh-t and run your mouth, please do it so I can pay a bill around here.”

Nicole Has Been Open About This Before

This isn’t the first time Nicole has been vulnerable about the online pressure she faces. While speaking with Angel Reese during an interview, she acknowledged the unique challenges that come with her public platform.

“I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just, like, online chaos didn’t impact me. It does. Even to this day,” Nicole said last October. “You can go to my most recent post, and it will be people debating each other why I am worthless, and I’ll never be a talented person, and I have no career.”

Hours before the release of Swift’s 12th studio album, “The Life of A Showgirl,” Nicole shared snaps of herself from a fancy dinner, where she was being honored as one of the “most iconic girlfriends of all time,” to her social media account.

She added online, “Thank you @hollywoodconfidential for creating space to celebrate visibility, sisterhood, and storytelling in its truest form. And a very special thank you to the honoree of the evening, @marabrockakil. Your gift has given generations a language and a lens.”

In a separate post, as previously reported by The Blast[6], Nicole also riled up fans by sharing a viral clip of Eva Marcille from “America’s Next Top Model,” in which the model declares that she doesn’t compare herself to other women.

“I don’t compare myself to other girls. I’m Eva. I’m no comparison to anyone else,” Marcille told host Tyra Banks.

While unconfirmed, many passionate Swifties believe that the 35-year-old billionaire was referring to Nicole while singing about her new man’s ex in the song “Opalite” from her latest project.

In the second verse, she sings, “You couldn’t understand it, why you felt alone / You were in it for real, she was in her phone and you were just a pose.”

“And don’t we try to love love?” Swift continued. “We give it all we got / You finally left the table / and what a simple thought / You’re starving ’til you’re not.”

The lyrics appear to be an accurate description of Kelce and Nicole’s on-and-off relationship, which lasted five years.

In early October 2025, a resurfaced[7] clip of an irritated Kelce begging Nicole to put her phone away during a night out went viral, sparking even more theories about what went wrong between the two lovers.

“Just drink the wine so we can go,” he said in the clip. “Oh, my God. Get off your phone. Get off your phone. … You’re not even drinking your wine anymore, can we go?”

Nicole has admitted to learning a great deal from her high-profile breakup with Kelce. As reported by The Blast[8] in April 2025, she opened up about the struggles of public dating and what it’s taught her during her appearance on the competition show “Special Forces.”

“You don’t see me. You don’t see me with a man, and you will never see me with a man until I’m married with kids. Scout’s honor,” she said, later explaining that keeping her business out of the headlines helps her protect them both.

“I don’t think I ever want to publicly date another man until I am absolutely sure that they are my long-term person just because I want to protect the things that mean the most to me,” she added.
