Spanish defender Jordi Alba has announced that he will retire from professional football at the end of the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) season.

In his farewell message, the Inter Miami full-back expressed deep gratitude to all the clubs he represented during his career, with special appreciation for FC Barcelona, where he spent over a decade.

“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the clubs that have shaped my journey,” Alba said. “To FC Barcelona — the club of my life — where I grew up, reached the pinnacle of my career, experienced over a decade of unforgettable moments, and achieved every possible title.”

Alba, 36, enjoyed a decorated career with Barcelona and the Spanish national team, winning multiple La Liga titles, the UEFA Champions League, and the Euro 2012.
