If you’re in the market for a new Kindle, the best Amazon Prime Day Kindle deals are underway right now. This is the best time—well, now and any other Amazon sale event—to get a new Kindle, no matter what model you’re looking for. You could still wait for Black Friday to see if the sales are just as good. But why wait? Amazon’s October Prime Day, dubbed Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, is upon us and comes stacked with an amazing range of Kindle deals. It’s the last big deal event before the holiday shopping season officially kicks off, so don’t miss your chance to get a great-priced Kindle.

With these sales underway, it’s actually worth getting the colorful Kindle Colorsoft[1], and you can even get my personal favorite Kindle, the Kindle Scribe[2], for over $100 off. Some new Kindles are coming out later this fall[3], but the second-gen Kindle you can get right now is a great deal and still a great device while we wait to see how the new model compares. Nearly all of Kindle’s lineup is on sale, along with many other Amazon gadgets[4], and we’ve shared below which deals are worth shopping out of the options.

If you need more Kindle advice, don’t miss our guides to the Best Kindles[5], Best E-Readers[6], How to Change Your Kindle’s Language[7], and How to Get Free Kindle Books With Your Library Cards[8]. Kindle Colorsoft and Colorsoft Signature Edition

The Kindle Colorsoft has a beautiful screen, but it leaves something to be desired with its high price tag. With these sale prices, though, it’s finally worth splurging on. I love it for looking at a colorful library when I choose a book, and it’s also a great option for anyone who loves comic books and graphic novels. I especially love the kids’ version, but that unfortunately isn’t on sale. It’s worth spending an extra $10 to get the Signature edition, which comes with wireless charging, an auto-adjusting front light, and twice the storage.

Kindle Scribe (2024)

I never shut up about this Kindle. I’ve even talked my coworkers into buying it during past deal events because it’s just that good. The second-generation Kindle Scribe is both an e-reader and a digital notebook, so you can get the best of both worlds in a single device. The three-month battery life makes it actually usable, since you aren’t constantly recharging it when you suddenly have an idea to write down or map out. It doesn’t have color, but most digital notebooks don’t without a large price tag, and the writing experience is super smooth. I’d get it again and again.

Kindle Paperwhite (2024, 12th Generation)

The Kindle Paperwhite is our all-around favorite Kindle. It’s got extra features like a warm light and a larger screen, and the Signature edition has an ad-free lock screen, auto-adjusting front light, and wireless charging like the Colorsoft Signature. It’s a great buy for just about anyone, and the one we recommend most if you aren’t interested in extra features like a color screen or digital notebook capabilities. Spend an extra $25 to get the Signature bonus features, particularly the ad-free lock screen.

Kindle (2024, 11th Generation)

The adorable base Kindle is still a great buy, even if it doesn’t have all the features of other Kindles. You’ll still get snappy performance, dark mode, and a front light, though it won’t be warm like more expensive models have. It’s our recommendation for anyone on a budget, especially while it’s on sale. The matcha green color is beautiful.
