Fans have been left in disbelief after seeing the glamorous mother of the Champions League[1]‘s latest star.
Last Tuesday, 18-year-old Sherhan Kalmurza was tasked with trying to keep Real Madrid at bay as his Kairat Almaty side took on the 15-time European champions.
However, a week later, he is making headlines for very different reasons.
Despite conceding five goals to Los Blancos[2], including three from the boot of a rampant Kylian Mbappe[3], Kalmurza still made those closest to him incredibly proud.
His mother, Saule Rabayeva, was filled to the brim with pride after watching her son compete against one of the best teams in the world, and she took to social media to congratulate the goalkeeper.
She wrote: ‘You are the best, my son! You are my pride. You did everything you could. For me, you are the strongest. Great heights are before you. Don’t give up. I am with you and I always believe in you.’

However, Rabayeva is in fact the mother of the Kazakh goalkeeper, which has taken the internet by storm
Upon reading the message, many fans were left stunned, thinking that Rabayeva was in fact the Kairat star’s sister.
‘Yo wait a minute! That’s the mother? Lol,’ one fan wrote.
Another just didn’t believe that she could possibly be the parent of Kamurza, writing: ‘No way that’s his mother.’
One social media user even claimed that she only looked a handful of years older than the Kairat goalkeeper.
They said: ‘The mother looks so young. Looks like 20s and her son is 18.’
Rabayeva has become somewhat of an influencer and has nearly 40,000 followers on Instagram.
Kalmurza became the third young goalkeeper in the history of the Champions League when he lined up between the sticks against Sporting Lisbon, in the opening week of this season’s competition.
Despite conceding nine goals in his two European starts, the young star has made 11 saves, the third most in the competition so far.

Kairat’s next Champions League match can be deemed as winnable, as they face fellow strugglers Pafos on October 21.
Both teams are yet to win a match in Europe this term, while the Kazakhstan Premier League team haven’t picked up a single point.
Kalmurza will be looking to pick up his first clean sheet of the tournament when Pafos come to town.
He managed to shut out FC Zhetysu Taldykorgan in Kairat’s latest affair, as the Kazakh league leaders swept them aside 5-0.
