he Capital Development Authority (CDA) has officially cancelled the Layout Plan (LOP) and No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the well-known Islamabad Gardens Housing Scheme located in Sector E-11, Islamabad. The action was taken after years of repeated violations and non-compliance with development rules.

According to a letter issued by the CDA’s Directorate of Housing Societies (Planning Wing) to the President of the Multi Professionals Co-operative Housing Society, the decision followed multiple warnings and communications between 2011 and 2025.

The housing project was originally approved on June 10, 2005, covering 811 kanals with designated zones for residential, commercial, institutional, and open spaces. However, the developers allegedly violated the approved layout by changing land use, encroaching on unapproved land, and failing to develop essential infrastructure.

A CDA spokesperson said,

“Despite repeated notices, the society failed to rectify irregularities or submit progress reports, leaving the authority with no choice but to revoke its approvals.”

The authority further revealed that parts of the housing scheme were marketed and sold without proper verification, misleading buyers. It warned citizens to avoid transactions with Islamabad Gardens and verify housing societies through the CDA’s official website before making any investments.

Officials clarified that the cancellation came after comprehensive inspections confirmed non-conforming developments. The CDA reaffirmed its commitment to planned urban development, vowing strict action against unauthorized housing schemes to protect public interest and uphold the city’s master plan integrity.
