Marisa Infante and Chase Robinson join firm that has 13 locations.
A prominent Tampa-based law firm has hired two new lawyers with careers in corporate and tax law and litigation and dispute services.
Shumaker[1] is expanding its roster of legal eagles with the addition of Marisa Infante[2] and Chase Robinson[3].
Infante not only has an emerging career in law, but she’s also been a globe-trotting excavator in archeology. Infante participated in two excavations overseas as part of archeological projects. She was part of scientific digs in Poggio Colla in Italy and in Greece, she was part of an excavation in Olynthos.
That background “sharpened her creativity and curiosity, traits that now strengthen her work as an attorney,” a Shumaker news release said. Infante was also a “summer associate” for Shumaker a year ago and interned with Magistrate Judge Thomas Wilson [4] in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Infante is a graduate of Stetson College of Law and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University before getting a Master’s Degree in classical archeology at the University of Oxford.
Robinson joins Shumaker after serving as editor at the Journal of Law and Public Policy and graduating from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He also served as a teaching assistant for a criminal law course and competed and coached on the Alternative Disputes Resolution team.
“Marisa and Chase embody the talent, drive, and creativity that define Shumaker’s culture,” said Jaime Austrich, Shumaker’s Tampa Managing Partner and Management Committee Member. “As we continue to grow strategically across service lines, their addition strengthens our ability to deliver innovative and effective solutions for our clients.”
The two additional lawyers for Shumaker is part of the firm’s significant growth in recent years. The firm was founded more than a century ago and while headquartered in Tampa, the organization has a total of 13 locations, with five of those in Florida and the rest in multiple states. The firm has more than 300 lawyers and advisers.
