Matchday 7 of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) delivered another round of excitement across various centres, with Warri Wolves and Abia Warriors grabbing valuable away victories. The headline clash between Enyimba and Rivers United in Aba, however, ended in a goalless draw.
At the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, Shooting Stars continued their strong home form with a dramatic 1–0 win over Plateau United. Ismail Ayodele struck deep into stoppage time (90+6’) to hand the Oluyole Warriors all three points in front of their jubilant supporters.
In Minna, Niger Tornadoes were held to a 1–1 draw by Kun Khalifat. Abba Khalid gave the home side the lead in the 42nd minute, but Ugochukwu Akuta equalised in the 82nd minute to ensure the visitors went home with a point.
The much-anticipated meeting between Enyimba and Rivers United lived up to expectations in terms of intensity but ended 0–0, as both unbeaten teams cancelled each other out.
Warri Wolves earned a vital away win in Bauchi, beating Barau FC 1–0 thanks to Justus Ohanu’s 29th-minute goal. Similarly, Abia Warriors claimed an impressive 1–0 victory over Kwara United in Ilorin, with Emeka Obioma converting from the penalty spot in the 48th minute.
In Enugu, the game between Rangers and Katsina United was abandoned in the 70th minute due to heavy rain. It will resume at 8 a.m. on Monday, with the score still 0–0.
Elsewhere in Yenagoa, Bayelsa United and Ikorodu City settled for a 1–1 draw. Emo James had put Bayelsa ahead in the 26th minute before Tosin equalised late on, scoring from a rebound after his penalty was saved.
The NPFL continues to provide thrilling action as teams battle for early-season dominance.
