Former Chelsea and Brazil midfielder Oscar has shared his thoughts on his old club and asked fans to be patient with new signing Estevao Willian.
Oscar, who moved from Brazil to Chelsea in 2012, knows how tough it can be for young players coming to the Premier League from South America.
Estevao Willian scored on his Chelsea debut, but Oscar says fans should not expect too much too soon.
“He’s good. He can dribble and likes to score goals. He has a lot of talent. But we need to give him time to settle in Europe. It’s not easy to arrive here,” Oscar told fellow ex-Chelsea player Mikel Obi on The Obi One podcast.
Chelsea’s young team has been under pressure lately because of mixed results and big spending on new players.
Oscar believes Estevao has great potential but says it will take a few years for him to show his best.
“He’s joined one of the best teams in Europe, so let’s see what happens in the next two or three years,” Oscar said.
Estevao has started well at Chelsea and will be hoping to keep improving.
