Chery has expanded its Tiggo 9 family with the debut of the Tiggo 9 C-DM, the first plug-in hybrid in this lineup. The SUV is currently exclusive to China, but industry sources suggest it may arrive in Pakistan soon.
Tiggo 9 C-DM: Hybrid Power and Long Range
The Tiggo 9 C-DM combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with a front-mounted electric motor. A three-speed hybrid transmission ensures a balance of performance and efficiency.
The SUV carries a 19.43 kWh lithium battery that supports fast charging. On a single charge, it provides enough pure-electric range for daily city driving. With both petrol and electric combined, the Tiggo 9 C-DM can travel more than 1,400 km under WLTC standards.
Standard Tiggo 9 Gets Upgrades
The regular Tiggo 9 keeps its 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. While the engine remains unchanged, Chery has added new features and equipment. These upgrades aim to strengthen the SUV’s position in China’s competitive market.
Entry-Level Tiggo 9X Launched
Chery has also introduced the Tiggo 9X, a simplified version of the SUV. It features minor exterior changes and fewer premium features. The Tiggo 9X targets buyers looking for the Tiggo 9 design at a lower price.
Tiggo 9 Lineup Prices in China
The new lineup is priced as follows:
- Tiggo 9X | CNY 147,900 (approx. Rs. 5.84 million)
- Tiggo 9 | CNY 152,900 (approx. Rs. 6.04 million)
- Tiggo 9 C-DM (PHEV) | CNY 165,900 (approx. Rs. 6.55 million)
These prices apply only to the Chinese market. Export or right-hand-drive models may differ.
Pakistan Launch Plans
According to market sources[1], the Tiggo 9 C-DM has not yet been confirmed for Pakistan. However, Chery Pakistan is expected to issue an update in the coming week. For now, the hybrid SUV remains available only in China.
