It was another thrilling night of UEFA Champions League football on Wednesday, October 1, with Arsenal, PSG, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli all securing important results.

At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Olympiacos. Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Bukayo Saka sealed the victory with a stoppage-time strike.

In France, AS Monaco held Manchester City to a dramatic 2-2 draw. Erling Haaland scored twice for the English champions in the first half, but Jordan Teze equalised for Monaco and Eric Dier converted a late penalty to earn the home side a point.

Barcelona suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain at the Nou Camp. Ferran Torres gave the hosts the lead in the 19th minute, but Mayulu levelled before half-time and Gonçalo Ramos grabbed the winner late on for the French giants.

In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen were held to a 1-1 draw by PSV Eindhoven. Kofane broke the deadlock for Leverkusen, but Ismael Saibari quickly responded to secure a point for the Dutch side.

Borussia Dortmund produced one of the standout performances of the night with a 4-1 victory over Athletic Club. Svensson and Carney Chukwuemeka put Dortmund in control, Guruzeta pulled one back, but Guirassy and Julian Brandt wrapped up the win.

Napoli also enjoyed success at home, edging Sporting Lisbon 2-1 in Italy. Rasmus Højlund scored twice for the Serie A side, while Luis Javier Suárez netted Sporting’s only goal from the penalty spot.

In Spain, Villarreal and Juventus played out a 2-2 draw. Mikautadze put Villarreal ahead, before Federico Gatti and Francisco Conceição turned the match in Juventus’ favour. However, Gabri Veiga struck in stoppage time to rescue a point for the hosts.

The results leave the groups finely poised as the competition enters its next round of matches.
