About
Delete The Metadata Off This Photo. I’m So Serious is a copypasta[1] trend on Twitter / X[2] that typically involves users quoting a photo of a wild animal to warn the original poster to “delete the metadata” from the photo, possibly in an attempt to deter wildlife poachers or hunters from finding the animal’s location. The trend began gaining traction in September 2025 after X user @AlHendiify urged another X user to wipe the metadata off a photo of a black panther spotted in Mississippi. Several internet[3] users responded to the post by saying that X automatically removes the metadata from uploaded images, and the post eventually spawned a copypasta joke where internet users told others to wipe the metadata off of meme images like the Gray Cabbit[4].
