About
Young Thug’s “Ninja” refers to the opening track on rapper[1] Young Thug’s[2] September 2025 album UY SCUTI, which was the first album released after Young Thug’s trial on RICO charges[3]. Young Thug notably raps the n-word with a “hard R” multiple times during the track’s outro, saying, “I’m calling my opps[4] ‘nigger.'” The album cover also showed Young Thug race-swapped[5] as a white man, which, mixed with his use of the “hard R,” generated discourse[6] and backlash against Young Thug based on the racist undertones of the song. Many internet[7] users shared viral posts and memes[8] about “Ninja” on social media sites like Twitter / X[9] and TikTok[10]. Notable posts questioned Young Thug’s sanity and identity as a Black man.
