The 2025 National Association of Museum Schools[1] Conference will take place at the Arkansas Arts Academy[2] in Rogers from Thursday to Saturday (Sept. 25-27). It’s the first time the national event will be hosted in Arkansas, according to a news release.

The conference brings together educators and cultural leaders “to share practices that connect classrooms with museums, preparing students as creative problem-solvers and engaged citizens.”

The Arkansas Arts Academy was chosen as host because of “its best practices in museum education and arts integration,” the release shows. It’s the state’s only pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade charter school that’s arts-focused and arts-integrated.

Conference attendees will include educators, administrators, museum leaders, higher education partners, and community advocates from across the United States.

“This conference celebrates the power of museums and the arts to transform student learning,” said Dr. Allison Roberts, superintendent and CEO of Arkansas Arts Academy. “We are honored that NAMS selected AAA to showcase the vibrant cultural ecosystem of Northwest Arkansas and our commitment to innovation in education.”

Following are conference features.
• National speakers and breakout sessions on museum-based teaching, arts integration and authentic learning.
• Hands-on workshops and networking opportunities for K-12 educators, museum staff and higher education faculty.
• Visits to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, The Scott Family Amazeum, The Walmart Museum, Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, Rogers Historical Museum, Peel Mansion and the Museum of Native American History.

Event sponsors and supporters include the University of Arkansas School of Art, Walton Family Foundation, Hight Jackson Associates, Artful Learning, Shiloh Museum of Ozark History and The Walmart Museum.
