Bill Reicherter, who is competing in a Republican Primary for the open House District 90 seat representing parts of Palm Beach County, just added Florida’s largest commercial construction association as a supporter.

The Florida East Coast Chapter[1] of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC[2]), which represents more than 21,000 members nationwide, has endorsed Reicherter in the race.

“We are thrilled to announce we have selected to endorse you in your race for Florida House of Representatives,” T.J. Long, the chapter’s Director of Government and Political Affairs, said in a statement.

The ABC nod follows others from BLU-PAC and former Rep. Rick Roth.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Associated Builders and Contractors and look forward to working with them to advance policies that support free enterprise, fair competition, and the construction workforce that drives Florida’s economy.”

Reicherter, a signage company owner with a long history of community involvement, is one of four candidates running to succeed Democratic Rep. Joe Casello, whose death[3] in July triggered a Special Election[4] for HD 90.

He is one of two GOP candidates running. The other is Maria Zack, a longtime Georgia lobbyist[5] and who has promoted conspiracy theories[6]. Republican voters will choose between them Sept. 30.

The winner will face Delray Beach Commissioner Rob Long, a Democrat, and no-party candidate Karen Yeh, in a Dec. 9 General Election.

Reicherter has served on several Boards and Committees in Palm Beach County, including those for nonprofits such as ChildNet, Junior Achievement of South Florida, the FLIGHT Center, Women and Wishes, and the YMCA.

He also leads the nonprofit Reichteter-Tozzi Foundation[7], which assists underserved communities through programs in housing, youth services, historic preservation, veteran support and disaster relief.

He’s campaigning on a promise to deliver property tax relief to residents, protect water quality and quantity, protect home rule, advance local transportation initiatives, support mental health services, protect home rule and establish an insurance fraud task force.

HD 90[8] is a Democratic-leaning district[9] that spans a coastal portion of Palm Beach County, including Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and part of Highland Beach.
