Google Gemini AI

Google is bringing AI photo editing to millions of Android users, expanding a feature that was once limited to its newest Pixel phones[1]. The company confirmed on Tuesday that Gemini-powered tools are now rolling out in Google Photos, giving users the ability to edit pictures with simple voice or text commands.

Instead of navigating complex menus or figuring out which tools to use, you can now describe the edits you want in plain language. Just tap “Help me edit” in the photo editor, type or speak your request, and the AI will handle the rest. For those unsure where to begin, Google offers built-in Gemini suggestions or a simple command like “make it better.”

The AI supports everything from routine edits, such as adjusting brightness or removing small distractions, to more advanced tasks like erasing objects in the background or restoring old photos. It can even add imaginative, AI-generated elements to pictures for a more creative touch.

Edits don’t have to stop at the first attempt, either. Gemini can respond to follow-up requests, allowing users to refine changes until they get the look they want.

Initially introduced in August with the Pixel 10 launch in the U.S., the feature is now widely available for Android users aged 18 and older, though only in English for now.
