The Sindh government has announced the launch of its Pink e-Bikes Program, under which free electric bikes will be distributed to women and students across the province this week. The initiative aims to provide women with safe, affordable, and dignified transportation, reducing their reliance on public transport.

The decision was finalized during a meeting chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Officials including Transport Secretary Asad Zaman and Sindh Mass Transit Authority MD Kanwal Bhutto also attended the session to review the details of the Pink e-Bikes Program.

Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the provincial government is introducing this initiative[1] as a revolutionary step to facilitate women in their daily commute. He explained that the program will help women save time, reduce travel expenses, and ensure safe mobility.

Scheme Targets Women and Students Relying on Public Transport

“This scheme is especially designed for women who depend on public transport for education, employment, and other daily needs,” the minister said. He added that applications from women and students are being processed and verified by the Sindh Mass Transit Authority.

According to officials, the e-bikes will be allotted[2] through a transparent mechanism based on merit and need. The provincial government has developed a simple and fair system to maximize the number of beneficiaries.

Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that the Sindh government wants women to become independent in every sphere of life, and the Pink e-Bikes Program is a positive step in this direction. He urged students and working women to take full advantage of the scheme, adding that such opportunities are meant to help women actively participate in education, jobs, and other social activities.
