The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have launched a strong crackdown against the rising issue of cash drop fraud at motorway service areas. This step comes after reports that certain shopkeepers were tricking travelers by returning less money during purchases and engaging in unfair practices.

The campaign, which began in Sector M-2 South, aims to protect commuters from financial exploitation. According to NHMP spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed, the initiative is focused on spreading awareness and ensuring strict monitoring.

As part of the drive, Panaflex banners have been displayed across service areas to alert travelers about scams, while NHMP’s educational units are conducting special awareness sessions inside mosques located in service areas. Passengers are also being briefed at designated movie points on how to stay vigilant and safeguard their money.

This crackdown highlights the Motorway Police’s commitment to ensuring safe and fair travel experiences, while also warning shopkeepers that strict action will be taken against any fraudulent activity.
